What are Cerec same-day crowns?

Cerec same-day crowns are porcelain caps that fit over natural teeth that are:

  • Stained
  • Decayed
  • Cracked
  • Chipped
  • Misshapen
  • Irregular
  • Too small
  • Weak
  • Gapped

Unlike veneers, crowns fit over the entire surface of your tooth. They restore the tooth, strengthen it, and improve its overall appearance.

While traditional crowns are made in a dental lab and often take a few days to manufacture, the Floral Dental Care, PC, team develops Cerec crowns in just a few minutes in their office using special technology.

Are Cerec same-day crowns right for me?

To find out if a crown is the right dental restoration for you, Dr. Rahman and his team review your symptoms and dental history, take X-rays of your mouth, and examine your tooth. If you have tooth decay or other damage that’s not severe, a crown helps repair the tooth and prevent future damage. Crowns can also attach to dental implants to replace missing teeth.

What happens during Cerec same-day crown placement?

Cerec crowns are made using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technology. Dr. Rahman and his team remove and clean the decayed portion of your tooth. They digitally scan your teeth and use Cerec technology to create a custom-fit crown in just a few minutes right in the office.

With same-day crowns you don’t have to schedule two separate appointments, as with traditional crown placement. When your crown is ready, Dr. Rahmen ensures it fits properly and permanently bonds it to your natural tooth.

How should I care for a new crown?

Crowns can last a lifetime with good oral hygiene habits. Brush your teeth at least two times a day, floss daily, and eat a nutritious diet low in added sugar. Don’t chew on hard objects like popcorn kernels, ice, or hard candies, and avoid opening packages with your teeth. Attend routine dental cleanings and exams at Floral Dental Care, PC, every six months.

At the first sign of tooth pain, decay, or damage, schedule an appointment with Floral Dental Care, PC, to find out if a Cerec same-day crown is right for you.
